Episode Forty Eight, Everywhere

Love can take on many guises and roles in human lives. It can be a romance or a parent's care; it can be a heightened sense of patriotism or a riot of resistance. It can be passionate and sublime. Love is an indescribable feel. We are either running from it or towards it but there is no getting beyond it because we are here for it, whether we admit that or not. We are, essentially, of love and it is a part of us that wants to be in our lives. It is the finest human experience to have and even richer when shared.

While defining what love is for each of us, there is one thing that remains true. One only need to ask for it to awaken to it. When that happens, if it doesn't drive you into a kind of madness to align you to your betterment, you will see that love is everywhere. Whether in a bird song or our deepest desire, it will suddenly appear everywhere. We can converse with it and have a kind of relationship with it. We can ask and even receive answers. Is there anything I can do about this? Why do I see this person everywhere? Why is this idea hounding me in all ways? We will be nudged towards answers to our questions when we learn to converse with it. When love is ultimately recognized in another - in a beyond - and it ignites, however, it will move us from what is familiar and comfortable and into to what is different to engage us and empower our lives.

Hafiz speaks here of his divine madness.

Thank you for listening.

Music: Seal sings about needing to go crazy. He is imploring us to find courage and tolerance for it in ourselves and others. Sometimes cray-cray is required to shake off or break out of what is familiar that shields us from our valuable needs and finer natures.

Miracles will happen as we trip...
